The indoor pieces are built for close listening: a nightstand, a reading chair, a bath ledge, the three feet of space where you actually unwind. Three watts of warm, near-field sound in a body you would happily leave out on a shelf, because it was designed to be looked at as well as heard.
The outdoor pieces are rated IPX6, run Bluetooth 5.0 and clip straight to a pack. Rain and splashes are not their problem. Trailheads, riverbanks, docks, long evenings in the yard.
Both carry original artwork. Neither is another black plastic box you hide behind the books.
